As someone who grew up in Portland, Oregon , she thinks she's already encountered the limits of weirdness, and yet—as one of the giant animal denizens of the Impassable Wilderness (known by locals as Wildwood) is quick to remind her—there she is, speaking with an owl having tea in a waistcoat.
