If a tree falls in a forest and no one hears it, does it make a sound? If you build an amazing data science tool and no one can use it, does it add value?

While a model or optimization tool that sits on your laptop can add some value, its leverage will be limited to your time and your ability to communicate its outputs to other people. A deployed tool can give many people access to the valuable predictions and/or recommendations it generates. Taking you out of the middle and enpowering your business partners, customers and co-workers to leverage the tool directly.
