Mexico's First Wave Pool Just Turned On The Spigot (Video)

After months of construction and years of planning, the Cabo Real development in Cabo San Lucas turned on the water and began filling its new wave basin this week. It will reportedly take about 30 to 40 days to fill up the basin completely. Covering four acres, it requires about seven million gallons of water to fill to capacity. The water is coming from a desalination plant that Cabo Real built specifically for the project. Once the filling process is done, it will be time for the team at Endless Surf to do their thing and start programming the wave-making technology, which will be powered by their ES48 pneumatic wave-generation system. The team at Cabo Real is hopeful that folks will be surfing Mexico’s first wave pool by the start of December.
