So I had two rounds of interviews recently. The first round they asked me my expectations and how much I’m currently earning. After I asked them what’s the salary for this position they said the panel in the 2nd interview would tell me. I was like fine since that was the one with all the heads. When I get to the 2nd round they ask me again what I want and what I make. Then I ask what the salary is and the CEO says she doesn’t recall and she needs to confirm with HR and then call me after. The other 2 say nothing.

I’ve never heard of something like this. Why would they do that? Is the salary that much lower than what I am asking? Why not just say it is And not waste my time?
