I’ve been listening recently to some of the recordings from the Ravinia festival where winners get to present their works that take a string quartet (2 violins, viola, and cello) mixed with a jazz combo (piano, bass, drums, possibly a horn or guitar) and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for albums or other recordings that fit this format? I’m familiar with recordings that might feature a full orchestra (I.e., Charlie Parker with strings), but have been having trouble finding things that fit the format I described!
