Shocking moment tourist approaches bison with toddler

Yellowstone National Park received a historic $105 million donation from Tallgrass, marking the largest single private gift in the National Park Service's history.

The funds will establish the Tallgrass WYld Yellowstone Initiative with nonprofit partner Yellowstone Forever to support long-term conservation and infrastructure projects.

Key initiatives include building a $35 million interactive visitor center at Norris Geyser Basin and expanding educational access for Wyoming students.

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum praised the donation for strengthening local ties and enhancing the visitor experience.

The record investment arrives as Yellowstone faces an estimated $1.2 billion in deferred maintenance and repairs alongside a recent leadership transition.
