I made myself a podcast about which kind of startup makes sense now, in the AI era, when you build a startup and tomorrow a large language model has been taught to do the same thing.
So here is the gist. What I see now, having walked around various conferences in San Francisco, is that value is moving into the interface.
Meaning that soon all AI models will be identical and similar to each other. The volume of knowledge in the world is finite, and in a few years all the knowledge in the world will have been pumped out. But I mean the mass market right now, not narrow vertical models for medicine or law and so on.
And the mass market is just a language model for the average job, for an ordinary housewife, for an ordinary coder.
So all these models, Gemini, Codex and Claude, will hold one and the same set of knowledge. Accordingly, their value and their ability to reason will be roughly the same. Give or take, average across the board plus or minus 5 to 10 percent.
What happens after that?…
