I have some balance in my 401K from previous employer that uses ADP. I want to appoint a foreign beneficiary but when I googled around it said that ADP only offers lump sum payment to foreign beneficiary and there is no option for 10 years distribution unless you roll it over to other IRA such as Fidelity or Schwab. It seems that Schwab is better option for expats since they offer international account. But I wonder what is the benefit of international account other than I don't have to use US address? Also does opening its international account means that I have to deal with the overseas asset reporting to IRS?
