One of the best new traditions on Central Oregon’s music scene — Punk-O-Ween — returns for its fifth year Saturday at Silver Moon Brewing in Bend.
Punk-O-Ween is pretty much what it sounds like: A bunch of local punk (and punk-ish) bands playing all day as a celebration of Halloween. And this year, it actually happens on Halloween, which is fun.
There’s a reason we used the term “punk (and punk-ish)” in the previous paragraph, by the way. Punk-O-Ween offers not only true punk bands, but also psychedelic rock ‘n’ roll, death metal, powerviolence, heavy sludge, funk-punk, alt-rock, black metal, hardcore and even a little “post-Americana outlaw alt-country” from a band called, appropriately, Punkwife.
The music’s gonna come fast and furious — 14 bands in about 11 hours. Here’s the full schedule:
12:30-1 p.m. — Noviom
1:15-1:45 p.m. — Street Teeth
2-2:30 p.m. — Unbecoming
2:45-3:15 p.m. — Ephixis
3:30-4 p.m. — Livid Kings
4:15-4:45 p.m.…
