Nscale is in talks to sell Anthropic about $45 billion in AI computing power for a second facility at the data center developer's Monarch campus in West Virginia, Bloomberg reported on Monday, October 19, citing people familiar with the negotiations.

Those people cautioned that talks are still underway and details could change. A deal could be signed within days, according to Bloomberg as summarized by Quartz . A person familiar with the matter separately told CNBC the agreement would cover a second 460-megawatt data center at the same site and could be worth around $45 billion. Anthropic declined to comment to CNBC.

The new building would supply 460 megawatts of capacity built around Nvidia's Vera Rubin chips. Anthropic also has a right of first refusal on a planned third building at Monarch.

A repeat of the August deal
