Republican congressional candidate Joe Mitchell presented President Donald Trump with a self-created Man of the Century Award during a rally in Sioux City, Iowa .

Mitchell praised Trump for keeping the country safe and stated that denying him the Nobel Peace Prize was a disgrace.

The gesture followed comments from Trump at a rally in South Carolina, where he expressed frustration over repeatedly being passed over for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump criticized this year's Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Navanethem Pillay, while also claiming he deserved a Pulitzer Prize for his writing.

Trump accepted Mitchell's framed award, adding to other custom honors he has received, including the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize.
