Would love to hear yall's first experiences discovering trance, how'd you find it, what was your first album/mix?

I was goin back through my memory tryin to trace back to where I first came across trance and it was so magical for me and also unlikely

I grew up in Kentucky USA, what we had on the radio is all we really had and you could go buy tapes then CD's but music scene was non existent so you bought what you liked on the radio.

I have some gaps in my memory but I know a friend was playing a mix CD with a whole bunch of stuff on it, and "Lovesong" cover by Snake River Conspiracy came on (I know it's "electronica" technically) but it grabbed me immediately, the sound of a synthesizer just got hold of my autistic ass and I had to hear more, I asked her what kinda music it was and she probably called it techno

Everybody knew enough about techno to make fun of it, for years after I went on my trance journey I didnt tell people what I listened to cause they'd just make fun of me.

I found a CD at best buy…
