Hired a business coach for 6 months. $1k/month. Here's what I got: Good: accountability, someone who'd actually read the same books I had, occasional reframing that I couldn't have done alone. Bad: 45-minute calls 2x/month. That's 90 minutes a month. When I hit a real decision point on a Tuesday at 11pm, my coach wasn't there. I'd go to Reddit or X. Reddit is not a business coach.... The ratio of "when I need thinking support" to "when my coach is available" is deeply broken. I'm not saying coaches are bad. Mine was great. I'm saying the model doesn't match how business problems actually occur, randomly, at bad hours, when your brain is already fried. I've been building something that tries to solve the availability problem. Not replacing coaches. Just filling the 90% of the week where you're on your own and need to think through a decision against someone who's read what you've read.…
