At the request of Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the ASPCA recently assisted with a suspected dogfighting case involving 10 dogs, including one puppy, removed from a property in Pelzer, South Carolina.

Upon arrival on scene, law enforcement discovered dogfighting paraphernalia, including weighted collars, heavy chains and a treadmill. Some dogs were also observed with wounds and dehydration.

During these efforts, we supported the transport of the animals to an ASPCA recovery facility where they will receive medical and behavioral evaluations, care and enrichment.…
