I’m looking for feedback, structural advice, or general suggestions on a fence modification project to protect my small dog. I live in the LA area, where coyotes and foxes are a constant neighborhood threat, and I want to ensure my yard is completely secure since small pets are frequently targeted here.
Currently, I have a 5-foot tall fence spanning about 220 linear feet around my property. Since a 5-foot barrier is an easy jump for a motivated coyote, I’m planning to extend the height up to 10 feet. As shown in the attached digitized drawing [I made it], the design includes an angled tilt (overhang) at the top to prevent animals from scrambling or pulling themselves over.
A few specific questions for the community:
Structural Integrity: Has anyone built a similar height extension?…
