Melissa Barrera felt like her 'life was over' after Scream firing

Melissa Barrera , fired from the Scream franchise three years ago over social media posts about the conflict in Gaza, has openly criticized the film's production.

Barrera labeled those who joined Scream 7 after her departure, including original stars, as “scabs” who “crossed the picket line” in protesting the war in Palestine.

She stated that the only way the movie could be made after her and Jenna Ortega 's exits was through “nostalgia-baiting” to attract audiences.

Barrera also questioned the reported box office success of Scream 7 , suggesting that the numbers might have been exaggerated.

Despite her contentious exit, Barrera expressed gratitude for her time with the Scream films, acknowledging their significant role in her career.
