iOS 27 and Siri AI introduce a positive change to the iPhone’s Camera Control. This welcome improvement is a benefit of the new Siri camera mode replacing Visual Intelligence on the iPhone. Camera Control’s Visual Intelligence shortcut could be more headache than helpful In iOS 18 and iOS 26, long-pressing the Camera Control invokes Visual Intelligence, the Apple Intelligence feature for looking up information using your iPhone’s camera. This essentially meant the Camera Control launched two very different apps: Camera or your assigned photography app with a quick click, or the whole Visual Intelligence experience with a long press. If you meant to just click the Camera Control to launch the Camera app but you pressed a second too long, Visual Intelligence would hijack your experience. This definitely happened to me more than once before I considered turning off the Visual Intelligence long-press feature completely.…
