Safe to remove room-dividing door frames?

My house was built in the 60s and is very compartmentalized. I'm doing what I can to open things up and make it feel less cramped. I've already removed the wall dividing the kitchen from the dining room as it was parallel with the floor/ceiling joists (non load-bearing). I would also like to remove the door frames including headers from my den to gain a little width to the hallways and a good couple feet of height to the ceiling. I am not concerned about them being load bearing as they are also parallel with the floor/ceiling joists, however I'm not sure if I need to be concerned about sheer strength of the house at this point. See here for a picture of what I've done and what I want to do:

Feel free to tell me I need to hire a structural engineer.
