My husband has been offered an 18-month relocation to Houston, and we’re trying to decide whether to take it. We visited for a week last August, but living there is a different story!

We’re a couple with no kids, and while my husband’s benefits include health insurance and a 401(k), we’d be responsible for figuring out most of the day-to-day costs.

I’d love to hear your advice on a few things:

● Cost of living: What monthly budget should we realistically expect for two people, including rent, utilities, groceries and transportation?

● Neighborhoods: Which areas would you recommend living in? Any areas you’d avoid?

● Job opportunities: I’ve worked in accounting at an accounting firm in Italy for the past 10 years, mainly handling accounting and administrative tasks. My visa would allow me to work in the US, but I’d need to leave my current job to move. How realistic would it be to find a job in Houston with my background?…
