Kristi Noem claims China has a 'thousand-year plan to destroy the United States'

Kristi Noem has been accused of posting an unauthorized State Department press release online claiming her special envoy role was always a six-month appointment.

A source familiar with the State Department reported that Noem went rogue and created a fake letterhead after her time with the Shield of the Americas security initiative ended.

The Department of State confirmed Noem's role as special envoy ended last week, but noted she will continue serving as a senior adviser.

Noem was previously removed as Homeland Security secretary in March following intense backlash over her handling of Donald Trump 's aggressive immigration crackdown.

The press release controversy follows multiple recent scandals for Noem, including a reported Department of Justice probe into her advisor Corey Lewandowski .
