President Donald Trump went on an eyebrow-raising riff about Jeffrey Epstein while stumping for Republicans in Ohio ahead of Tuesday midterm elections .

Trump remained tight-lipped about the late convicted sex offender and wealthy financier as his administration faced backlash last year over its handling of government files relating to its federal sex trafficking case against Epstein . The heat on Trump was turned up when The Wall Street Journal released an article in July 2025 about a bawdy birthday letter Trump reportedly wrote to Epstein in 2003, that read: “May every day be another wonderful secret.”

In a rare remark about Epstein, who ran in the same social circles as Trump decades ago, the president said Wednesday night that he threw him the “hell out of Mar-a-Lago.”
