I'm moving back home to Canada after over 10+ years in London, and going through a lot of emotional processing while packing. I'm having a hard time deciding what to bring home with me, as I've lived all my adult life in the UK, and have gone through multiple phases of identity here. I know this process of shedding is good for me, but the emotional weight is so much. Saying goodbye to parts of you that were never fully realized, deciding what's important for your next chapter, getting rid of traces from an old life that you won't return to... I'm packing bit by bit everyday and end up crying most days. I feel like I should be enjoying my last weeks in London but the move feels so heavy. This is 100% the right decision for me, but I feel like I'm going through a break-up. Any advice on how to lighten this process?
