Hi,
Has anyone else dealt with the title? I just moved to Pakistan. I'm a non-religious, light-haired, Swiss-origin, American man who looks vastly different from everyone here. I know very little about muslim and Pakistani culture. Whilst I am learning, I have noticed I feel like eyes are always on me (usually I do get stares more often than not) and I feel like I'm being watched, judged, etc. I don't know the cultural norms of a place like this, especially when it comes to the opposite gender, something that's so normal to interact with where I'm from. I end up overthinking a lot and become a little self-conscious. There's lots of insane poverty here (2nd cheapest country in 2026) and things like arranged marriages, to things like holding hands being illegal. I just don't really know how to act and navigate some things, life's in a super weird spot. Has anyone experienced similar?
What did you do to overcome this stuff or what helped you
