Tropical Storm Edouard, the fifth named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, made landfall along the Texas-Louisiana border Tuesday, bringing wind gusts exceeding 60 mph and severe flood threats to the Gulf Coast.
The National Weather Service has issued tropical storm warnings from Port Bolivar, Texas, to the Vermilion-Iberia Parish Line in Louisiana. Key cities under warnings include Beaumont and Port Arthur, Texas, and Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Houston is currently under a flood watch. General rainfall expectations range from 3 to 6 inches across parts of Texas, though the NWS warned that “isolated 10 to 15-inch amounts cannot be ruled out where heavy storms occur.”
