Halloween isn't far away, which means it's time for pumpkin patch visits, scary movie marathons, and one of the most iconic Internet memes. It reappears every October on the dot, and it never fails to make me gasp, cringe, and laugh until there are tears in my eyes.

I'm talking about "I hate gay Halloween" . It all began with the concept of gay people choosing a Halloween costume that's so niche and ultra-specific that maybe a handful of people (if that) even know what it is. Now, it's transformed into a hilarious meme that somehow gets better and better each year.
