I started in audit earlier this year in January from a completely non-accounting background . I’ve passed all my exams first time so far and I am 8/15 through the ACA.

However, I am really having a hard time at work. A couple of months ago I was given a pretty poor performance review due to have low utilisation and not having enough feedback to judge my performance. I was told I was unconfident which is completely true. This review only made it worse.

I have been trying my hardest to improve constantly. I am always asking for work and more opportunities only to be told that I would ‘be considered’ and then nothing. The jobs I am booked to often fall through or are given to somebody else before me so there is nothing left for me to do. I feel like I am fighting a losing battle.

The quality of my work is good. I know I do good work. I have struggled with communicating issues early and I am working to improve this.…
