Walter Koenig spent decades associated with the USS Enterprise, but he picked another sci-fi universe for his biggest acting achievement. After news of the Star Trek actor’s death at 90, a resurfaced 2018 interview with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson revisits how Babylon 5 gave him a role he nearly missed.

Koenig died at his North Hollywood home , surrounded by his daughter and niece, his agent Zachery McGinnis told The Associated Press .

The road to that role included an emergency that pulled him from an earlier booking.
