I had a Zoom interview with a staffing agency today and it was fine up until I was asked to provide my references. I told the woman that I didn't feel comfortable sharing them before the stage that I was being offered a job and that I thought it was premature. I hadn't met the hiring manager or interviewed yet. This was just the initial screening. What the hell. They may or may not move forward with my application now. The woman I spoke with has to ask her higher up. If I don't move forward I'm okay with it.
