Beloved Gone Fishing dog Ted makes his final TV appearance
A Georgia family says a Georgia Animal Hospital told them their pug, Cha Cha, needed to be euthanized, but a clinic staff member secretly took the dog home instead.
Cha Cha’s owner, Rebecca Belote, discovered her pet was still alive months later after spotting a recent photo of the pug on Facebook.
Belote alleges that the clinic subsequently euthanized the healthy dog to cover up the incident after the family confronted them.
This is the second reported incident at Senoia Animal Hospital where a pet was allegedly kept alive by staff instead of being put down.
Belote said the Coweta County Solicitor is investigating the incident, and that she has filed a complaint with the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine. The Independent has contacted the county solicitor for more information.
