I don’t know much about houses, even though I’ve owned and lived in one for 5 years now. I‘ve made upgrades and improvements along the way. I’ve learned things here and there. However, still pretty much in the dark when it comes to basic maintenance...for example, when is my roof too old? How’s my AC unit doing? Is there any mold anywhere? Are there plumbing issues?

My main question is, should I hire a contractor to do a home inspection if I haven’t done one since I initially bought the house, to reset and see what needs to be done? Or will this push me into a trap of doing things I don’t have to?
