I am a woman in my early twenties and I am currently looking for an apartment. I make 3000 a month after taxes in Portland, OR and after all the costs this apartment would be about 1400 (this includes parking which is very expensive in the city). It has really nice amenities, but is small. I have 14,000 in my emergency fund and have been investing. No student debt or car payments.

If you have ever spent too much on rent, did you regret it? How did you lower costs in other parts of your life?

My gas would be less expensive since I would be commuting less and i wouldn't need a gym membership. I am having trouble looking at the number and making it okay in my head so I can just live somewhere enjoyable. Would appreciate any advice!
