I have some sheet metal on my roof around the area of my chimney that has some rust spots resulting in possible water getting through. I was going to use Henry's Extreme Rubberized Wet Patch to seal the spots that look possibly damaged with rust, though I am wondering if I should apply waterproof paint to the entire sheet metal instead? It looks like someone previously used something like Henry's in certain spots though it is now cracking, and it would have had to have been done at least 10 years ago, or longer. There was some water getting into the house from around the chimney last winter, and I can see it in the drywall around the chimney, though I do not know for sure where it is coming from.

You can see the cracked white area that was a prior application of Henry's or whatever it was put on the sheet metal.…
