Hi,

I am a US based Senior Engineer with 12 years of experience in iOS Development . I feel like I have been on total grind in last 14 years if you include my grad school. Fortunately I haven’t been let go from any of my workplace till now.

Regarding my job situation, I have been in this company for 4 years and past three years my ratings have been met or exceeded. My mid year peer reviews were pretty good too including my tech leads . When I came back from a vacation, my boss has put me on pip for the reasons I don’t agree with.

I was already burnout for constantly grinding for years, and the longest break I have taken is 15 days in 12 years of my career. I feel like AI is stunting my coding skills and constant need to catch up with latest AI tools is draining me out. The PIP thing has put me over the edge and I am hating even the coding now.

Thankfully my state has best unemployment system in the country and my expenses will be covered for 7.5 months (I live a minimalist life).…
