As the founder of Ionablokchain, I often get asked about our architecture. Most Layer 1 projects make bold claims about speed and security, but they usually test those claims on expensive, enterprise-grade server clusters.

We wanted to prove that a well-optimized Rust codebase and a modern cryptographic stack can deliver enterprise-level performance on hardware you can buy at any local PC store.

Take a look at our recent local testnet run. The dashboard shows a 0.48-second block time, a peak of ~1,975 TPS (transactions per second) during a load test, 5 active validators, and a 99.01% transaction success rate.

Here is the twist: all of this was running on a single AMD Ryzen 5 4500 with 16GB of RAM.

Let’s break down the cryptography, the architecture, and why some of the numbers on that dashboard look the way they do.

*The Cryptographic Engine: A Hybrid Approach

To run a modern, EVM-compatible chain that is ready for the future, you can't rely on basic cryptography.…
