Short answer: yes, FilmCraft is free. It's open source (MIT OR Apache-2.0), it rebuilds Adobe Premiere Pro from scratch in pure Rust, and it costs $0. Premiere Pro costs US$22.99/month on the annual plan.
But is a free Premiere clone actually usable ? I gave FilmCraft 0.9.0 real jobs on a Mac mini M4 (16 GB) and scored it against Premiere in 10 rounds.
