Boeing's largest 737 MAX aircraft has received Federal Aviation Administration certification, clearing the way for deliveries of a jet with 1,555 orders that represent a third of the company's outstanding 737 MAX order book.
The FAA announced Tuesday that it had certified the 737 MAX 10 after years of regulatory and safety reviews, removing a major hurdle for Boeing as it prepares to begin deliveries to airlines in the coming months.
Boeing said the aircraft has received orders from more than 30 customers worldwide, making the MAX 10 a key part of the company's commercial airplane backlog.
The approval also marks a significant milestone for Boeing's 737 MAX program, which has received 7,350 orders across the aircraft family, with nearly 2,500 planes delivered through the end of September 2026.
