My brother came to visit me earlier this month... Finished with a round at Jack's Point.
Unfortunately, my golf has been 10-15 shots worse since a herniated disc took me out for 6 months earlier in the year... so I've lost a lot of love for the game.
Still, had a great 2 weeks playing a few courses between Christchurch and Queenstown.
The 112 included 11 penalties. 5 of which were for balls lost in the extremely punishing rough, treated those as water hazard losses. 2 unplayable. 2 actual water hazards and 2 slices well through the red stakes into the real long grass.
Head completely lost, got fed up of searching for balls in 3-4 inch grass just a few feet off of the fairway. Definitely feel the rough could be trimmed a little for the everyday players and grow it out for comps.
Would love to play again now I know the shape of the holes, a lot of blind shots and no idea of safe numbers. The cart GPS just does not do the elevation changes any justice.…
