Still pretty new to homeownership (<2 years.) This is a great house and I plan to keep it, retire in it, leave it to my daughter, I have very little interest in selling unless I strictly need to. I’m more concerned with owning it outright and being debt free sooner rather than later.
I heard from a coworker that biweekly payments can pay a house off faster which is obviously true because that comes out to 13 full payments a year instead of 12, but he said that doing so also mitigates compound interest.
If I understand compound interest correctly, it would behoove me even more to pay a quarter of the monthly payment every week, no? Or am I misunderstanding compound interest?
Thanks in advance!
