Finally got out there for my first round of 9. Starting golfing in September and was only comfortable playing at the driving range until today.
Some things that were new:
- hitting from the rough. With only experience hitting from a mat this was very new and caused me to whiff some hits or only get a few yards from a hit.
- unsure which clubs to hit from distance and how hard to hit. I’ve only ever tried to hit my clubs to the best of my ability. When I would be under 100 yards or so this was very new to me to decide how hard to swing. Made me second guess and not be confident in my swings.
- PW wound up being my most used. In the range I never really touched this club. Felt very versatile and quickly became what I went for on those under 100 hits.

Overall I had a great time playing. Got a surprise beautiful day so left work early to enjoy the sun. Definitely some challenging moments but can’t wait to get back out there.
