I recently had my metal roof replaced. The contractor laid the metal roof with the side lap facing toward the prevailing wind. I live in kentucky and from what I could find code here says it's per manufacturers install instructions. The company the contractor got the metal from states it's to be installed side lap opposite prevailing wind. When I brought this up with the contractor he said the metal was rated for the appropriate wind speed and that the roof would be under warranty. I'm worried about wind blowing water up under the side lap and I want it to be up to code. I'm not sure not sure what to do as the contractor just wants to argue and say it's fine. They've done some seriously shotty work elsewhere and say they're going to fix it so I'm worried that they've messed up the entire roof and don't want to repair it. Should I contact an inspector? Just curious what my steps should be or if I should even be worried about it. Any help or advice would be appreciated.…
