Im in zone 7a. I grew potatoes in 2 big pots this year and hilled them twice. In late summer I started getting new leaf growth. I finally decided to harvest the. This morning amd got quite a mix of potatoes.

The potatoes were from a store potato from a few years ago. I grew green growth from it in my garden but didnt find much potatoes. This year in like March I was just turning soil over and found a bunch of seed potatoes so I harvested them and waited until the weather was better to grow them in pots. I got a bunch of potatoes that are irregular shapes. Some had new green growth on them and were located in the hilled part. The odd potatoes are still firm with no green on them. Im not sure if they're safe to eat. Photos are attached.

I know those pale ones are new potatoes. The regular shaped ones should be more mature potatoes. If the weird shaped ones I don't know about.
